Genie Living Drinks, the new British soft drink brand, has secured pre-series A funding through the WH Ireland Investor Forum.
The product offering is aimed at the growing proportion of health conscious adults who find that the ‘traditional’ sugar packed soft drinks aren’t cutting it anymore. Genie’s range of Live Sodas and Kombuchas are packed with live probiotic cultures, made from real ingredients with no added sugar, preservatives or sweeteners.
Genie Drinks Co-Founder Bill Read, commented:
“WH Ireland have been a great partner for this round of funding for Genie Drinks. Not only did they make introductions to the right investors for Genie, they supported us throughout the transaction and through to completion. Fund raising in the middle of a pandemic is not straightforward but we are happy to say the investment process run by WH Ireland exceeded expectations (and was hugely oversubscribed). With our funding in place, Genie can now accelerate its growth and take advantage of market opportunities.”
Zuleika Salter, Director, Private Equity, commented:
“We are delighted to have secured pre-Series A funding for Genie through our Investor Forum. Bill and Alex have created a unique and relevant brand in a fast expanding category. It is a testament to their creative talent and entrepreneurship that despite challenging market conditions, the round was significantly oversubscribed. We look forward to supporting Genie’s continued growth and success.”
